How does HP Easy Ink work?

  1. Simply subscribe your eligible printer to HP Easy Ink and enable Web Services to activate your printer for ink monitoring.
  2. When the printer ink level is running low, HP Easy Ink will send notifications to your email/SMS or WhatsApp.
  3. In the notification, there will be a ""Buy Now"" link to HP Online Store. The compatible cartridges will be readily listed for you.

What are the differences between subscription and enrollment?

Enrollment refers to when you sign up for HP Easy Ink with an eligible printer, while subscription refers to the eligible printer(s) under your HP Easy Ink account.

  1. You are enrolled to HP Easy Ink when you subscribe an eligible printer.
  2. You can subscribe multiple printers by accepting HP Easy Ink T&Cs for HP to be authorized to monitor the print usage.
  3. To enjoy the benefits, you need to enable Web Services (to activate ink monitoring) for at least one subscribed printer.

What are the basic criteria to enroll to HP Easy Ink?

  1. You must be a resident in India.
  2. Your HP printer must be purchased inside India.

  4. You must have an access to Wi-Fi in order to connect your HP printer for ink monitoring.

How do I enroll to HP Easy Ink?

If you don’t have an HP printer eligible for the program:

  1. Purchase any of the eligible HP printers.
  2. Subscribe printer to HP Easy Ink after you complete the purchase.
  3. Log in / Sign up for a HP Account.
  4. Enable Web Services if it was not connected during printer setup.
  5. Complete enrollment and receive low-on-ink notification.

If you already have an HP printer eligible for the program:

  1. Detect your printer by using HP Product Detection Tool (HP PDT) or by manual entry, and select the printer to subscribe.
  2. Log in / Sign up for a HP Account.
  3. Enable Web Services if it was not connected during printer setup.
  4. Complete enrollment and receive low-on-ink notification.

Who can enroll to HP Easy Ink?

Anyone who is buying an eligible HP printer from HP Online Store or have already owned HP printer(s) eligible for this program.

Is there a fee to enroll to HP Easy Ink?

There is no fee to enroll to HP Easy Ink. You will only be charged for the ink or toner that you buy through HP Online Store. You will also enjoy free delivery with your orders.

Is my printer eligible for HP Easy Ink?

This service is only applicable for customers residing in India, and has purchased the eligible printer in India.

Select "I own a HP Printer" on the HP Easy Ink page. You can check your printer's eligibility by using the search bar function. If your printer is eligible, you may begin the enrollment using the HP Product Detection Tool (HP PDT) or via manual entry.

Can I enroll to HP Easy Ink if I already own an HP printer?

HP Product Detection Tool will detect eligible HP printer(s) on your network. Once detected, you can subscribe the printer(s) to HP Easy Ink and enable Web Services to activate the printer for ink monitoring.

How do I unenroll from HP Easy Ink?

  1. Login to your HP Online Store account.
  2. Go to HP Easy Ink Membership Page under My Accounts.
  3. Click on "Unenroll" to unsubscribe all printers.

Note: You will be automatically unenrolled from HP Easy Ink when you have no subscribed printer(s) that are active.

If you had just uninstalled the Product Detection Tool, please wait for 3-5 minutes before you try to install it again.

If I had checked the auto-uninstall option, does that mean I have to keep downloading HP Product Detection Tool (HP PDT) everytime I want to subscribe a new printer?

If you have checked auto-uninstall option, the installed software will be automatically deleted upon completion of the subscription process. To avoid this hastle, do not check on the auto-uninstall option when you enroll to HP Easy Ink.

What is HP Printer Detection Tool (PDT)?

HP Printer Detection Tool (PDT) is a web-based software that automatically detects an HP printer's model and serial number. By using HP PDT, you can eliminate manual submission of printer information and avoid making any error.

Why does my computer requested to restart while I’m installing HP PDT?

HP PDT installation does not require the computer to restart. If your computer prompts for a restart, it is most likely due to pending Windows or other application update(s).

Why don’t I see my printer on the Wi-Fi network I am connected to?

Please check that your Wi-Fi network is connected on the 2.4GHz band.

My computer and printer are connected on same network. Why couldn't HP PDT find my printer?

Please ensure that your computer is not connected to any VPN (Virtual Private network).

No. You need to subscribe the new printer to HP Easy Ink and enable Web Services to activate it for ink monitoring and receive low-on-ink notifications.

If I have more than 1 printers subscribed, can I opt to just unsubscribe a specific printer while keeping the others still subscribed?

Yes, you can choose to unsubscribe a printer and keep other printer(s) subscribed. Notifications will only be sent for the remaining printer(s).

If the new printer that I just purchased is faulty and I have to return it to HP, will my enrollment to HP Easy Ink be canceled?

If you had returned your printer and no longer have any active printer subscribed to the program, you will be automatically unenrolled from HP Easy Ink.


To re-enroll, simply log in to your HP Online Store account to activate a subscribed printer or subscribe a new printer on the HP Easy Ink Membership page.

What if I decided to give away or sell my printer that's subscribed to HP Easy Ink?

You should unsubscribe the printer from your HP Easy Ink membership to stop the ink monitoring and receiving notifications for the printer.

How do I place my ink or toner order when I receive the low-on-ink notifications?

Click on "Buy Now" in the low-on-ink notifications that you received in your email/SMS or WhatsApp. You will be redirected to HP Online Store, where your compatible cartridges are listed for you, and make your purchase as usual.

Alternatively, you can login to your HP Online Store account and purchase directly from the Ink & Toner category or through the HP Easy Ink Membership Page.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders can only be cancelled before shipping. Please call our HP Shopping Call Centre on 1800 180 1810 to cancel an order. A cancellation fee of 5% of the order value will be applicable.
