Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works after all updates. I use this dock with the HP ZBook Studio G3 (got this on sale so I picked this one over the 150Watt version). Initially I had many of the same issues others did, but once I performed the firmware updates on it and the corresponding updates on the Zbook, the dock works in a stable manner. Originally, I would have to boot the computer before attaching the dock to get my displays to come up, but everything boots just fine now. For reference, on this dock I have two HD displays hooked in using the display ports, a mouse, a keyboard, an ethernet connection, and another dock hooked in running another HD monitor and a 720p monitor and an external SSD (500mbs throughput to it). All four of those monitors come up reliably in a addition to the built in display and a monitor using the computer's HDMI port. Besides the initial firmware issues and a single overheating incident (probably because of all my displays), the dock has been running like a champ. Recognize that the firmware is now good and you can mostly disregard reviews complaining about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Great product and it works as is designed with the Zbook 17 G3 .Prior connecting with the computer I updated Bios and other Firmware as was requested . There are two monitors connected with the Dock which I use for Photoshop and other photography applications and never had any issue . In case you disconnect and connect a monitor with the computer turned on the monitor will flicker and will not work but if you restart the computer or connect the monitor while having the computer off it will work perfect . The monitors I have connected are calibrated each one in different color space and still working without issues and this Thunderbolt 3 Dock has resolve everything for me .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thunderbolt docking stations just suck I'm not sure if this is a Thunderbolt issue or firmware issue but this docking station is horrible. First: The cord is way too short. It barely reaches my laptop from between my monitors. Second: A cord is an idiotic solution for a docking station. I just LOVE reaching over and between items to plug a cord in instead of actually just plopping my laptop down on a real docking station. Third: It just doesn't work very well. Does your environment only support Legacy Bios boot? Well too bad, HP will refuse to support you since they don't support Legacy. Alright, lets upgrade UEFI, maybe that'll be better. Does your environment use encryption? Well don't plan on turning on your PC with the docking station and having the ability to use your keyboard or mouse before it gets to Windows. Who does't want to open their laptop lid while docked for input? I guess if that gets annoying enough you can completely disable Thunderbolt security in the BIOS. Now, for the most part I can use my keyboard and monitors to enter my Bitlocker PIN. So you want to take your laptop to a meeting. Well that's fine, it usually works just fine. Just make sure you put your laptop back to sleep before connecting to your docking station again or the USB ports on the docking station will not work until you do a reboot. Yup, that's right, that docking station you just plugged backed into your laptop doesn't actually work until you do a reboot if you machine doesn't wake from sleep. Also, don't bother trying the USB C docking station, chances are, it won't be able to supply power to your laptop.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not a dock Its not a dock. It adds display ports. In my scenario, it makes me plug one less cable in. Not worth the trouble. I didnt even pay for mine. My employer did. But, I have no use for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pure Useless Garbage This is the worst technology product that I have ever owned! I am so mad at this thing. Our IT guy has spent hours on the phone trying to get these docks to work. It's just a defective product and design in which, from what I have now read, is not being addressed. This dock just randomly disconnects from my monitor, and accessories. I have to restart the whole thing about four times a day and have lost A LOT of important work due to it. I know your business is primarily low-bid bulk corporate sales, but have a little pride in your product. Take some of that marketing spend, get a couple of decent engineers, and fix this. I am considering taking this to upper management to get switched over to Macs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This "dock" is very difficult to get working right So to start, this is not a dock. It is a port replicator....FYI I started at this company and they got me a super nice ZBook 15 G3 which is spectacular by itself. But, once you go to use this thunderbolt dock the problems begin. I read everything that came with the dock and installed or updated all the drivers prior to connecting the dock. Everything works on the dock (USB, Ethernet, VGA, Headphone jack) except for the display ports. I have two(2) Planar PXL2471MW monitors that when connected to the display ports will not go over 620x400 resolution. Yet when I connect them with the docks VGA and the laptops VGA ports they correctly display at 1920x1080. I tried every driver that HP has on their support site but nothing has fixed it. I have even tried using a clean install of windows 7 & 10. I have tried with and without installing the drivers the dock documentation requested, no change. After about a month of trying and failing I gave up and decided to use the dock VGA and the laptops VGA ports for my dual displays. Last week I tried connecting a third monitor, this one is a HP ProDisplay P232, using the display port and it worked! I am shocked it worked, but not to surprised as this monitor is a HP and they like to do proprietary everything. It saddens me that all this headache was because HPs stupid dock doesn't play nice with other brand monitors. Just thinking about how ridiculous this process was is giving me a headache again!!! Save yourself from many headaches and don't buy this "Dock" (Port replicator)!! Just use the VGA and HDMI ports on the laptop itself.
