Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have had one of HPs laptops for about 15 years I have had one of HPs Laptops for about 15 years-No problems other than a Fan replacement.Purchased one of HPs Desk Tops and wanted to make sure everything was covered for a few years-just in case something happened.Good to know that HP will be behind me if I need them.

I do not know enough about computers to fix things myself, so I let HP do it for me. It is well worth the $119.99 not to be down when I need my systems up and running.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ?? "or, in rare instances, sending the [PC]" ?? So I tried using this yesterday for a replacement CPU fan. The fan has been noisy making a crackling and I have to imagine the bearings are going. A CPU fan can be bought for about $20, requires removing 4 screws and pulling a connector to remove it, and doing the opposite to install the new one. After an hour long chat session, I was told they do not replace the fan - it is not covered. So I asked for a manager, who said the same. They cannot order just the fan, it must be part of the system board. So I asked to have a tech come out with a system board if that's how they need to do it. But they denied that option. Instead I would need to ship it to HP for service. (even though I had purchased this "HP 3 year 3 day Onsite Response for 1 year warranty " ) Eventually I was sent to a "Case Manager" who told me I can ship it to them for service, but the only items covered in the on site coverage are the hard drives and the video card. I asked for that in writing, and the discussion was over. I Did get a call back from the case manager and he was able to order the fan, and schedule a technician to come out and install it. So far it seems the on site part of this product is questionable.
