Rated 1 out of 5 by Poorly designed - buggy I am amazed at the poor design of this 'dock', especially with the supplied cable. With the dock facing you so the power button is exposed, the Thuderbolt / power port is on the back left of the unit. On my laptop, the port is on the right but the supplied cable is only 16 INCHES LONG. This makes is almost impossible to logically lay out the unit on your desk. In addition, the HP Thunderbolt software constantly fails to recognize the dock after undocking / redocking and I keep having to re-install the software. Fail. September 21, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by To many problems Bought this "Docking Station" to go with my new ZBook 17. When I received it there were little to no instructions to set it up properly. Figured it was a plug and play type deal but was disappointed right off the bat. My first "Docking Station" had so many problems and there was no support or help to be found with this new product. It would work sometimes and then just quit. They fail to tell you that your computer must be off or in hibernation mode to plug in the docking station. So I spent a lot of time with one or two monitors working but never the same ones. One morning I had all three monitors working and then the monitors hooked to it started to blink, and then went blank. Got that one replaced through warranty, it was less than a month old. The second one I got has had all the same problems. My monitors will flicker like they are trying to calibrate but it can't figure it out. Only way to get it to stop is to unplug the docking station from the computer and try again. However again the computer must be in hibernation or shut down. If that doesn't work in hibernate, you are forced to shut down your computer and reboot while still connected to the docking station. I’ve been hopeful that an update would come out to resolve these issues that everyone seems to be having but to my amazement there hasn’t been one. I feel this problem is only getting worse and worse as time goes by. I hope that it doesn’t just fry something again like the first one did. I would not suggest you buy this product however there is no docking station for my laptop other than this! August 30, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not acceptable Our company has switched to HP and decided to use the Zbook 15 or 17 as their main devices. I have a need for these machines to dock in to 2 ext monitors, Network, 2 usb devices. Nothing to big. The first device arrived and had a driver nightmare just getting it to work at all. Then it wouldn't reconnect after being unplugged and plugged back in, without restarting the machine. This morning the device made a fizzle noise and of course burned out. Not a great demo for the price of this device. I now have to either pay for another and guess if it was just an issue with this one device or look else ware for a dock, wish HP would have realized having a lockable dock was an advantage as well. Now I have to place a cable to lock in the dock, and another for the laptop. Used to be able to place the laptop on the dock and lock it. These are not docking stations they are port replicators. Give me a docking station for my G3 17s please. August 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by This product does not work and is extremely buggy. We have bought 15 of these devices for our office. We use to use the G1 docking stations, and never had a problem. Out of the box the G3 would not work at all. After 6 different driver installs it is starting to work. We still have severe issues of connectivity when using the docking stations. Do not Buy these, the thunderbolt port is not ready. July 29, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Big expectations, not fully satisfied. Because i work on different locations i have purchased multiple docks (3) for ease of use, and to have a complete desktop setup experience wherever i work. Sadly the dock works rather dodgy. Attached USB devices sometimes don't get connected/recognized, so i have to fall back to the keyboard on my ZBook. This seems to happen randomly, and multiple restarts are needed to correct this. Also the power cable to connect the ZBook with the dock is rather short and rigid, and the dock itself is lightweight so setting up a clean and neat desktop is a pain. June 7, 2016
