Secure transactions

HP.com is committed to ensuring the security of your information. We've put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, and we provide a safe shopping guarantee.

Secure storage of your information

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, the industry standard for protecting your on-line commerce transactions. It encrypts your credit card number, name, and address so they can't be read while traveling over the Internet.

What to look for

Cookies

HP.com uses cookies (a small piece of information stored on your computer's hard drive), to tell us when you're visiting our site. This lets us give you a personalized shopping experience but doesn't compromise the security of your information.

Credit card information

Allowing us to save your credit card information for future shopping convenience is up to you. Encryption protects your credit card data.

Fraud

Preventing credit-card fraud is important to HP.com. Because we use real-time payment processing, we subscribe to a fraud risk management service. The secure data transfer and validation process between the service and HP.com is bound by contractual and confidentiality agreements.

Safe shopping guarantee

We're so sure that our on-line system is secure that we back it with our safe shopping guarantee: you pay nothing if unauthorized charges are made to your credit card as a result of shopping at HP.com.

Security and privacy

HP is committed to ensuring the security of your information. HP.com uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security protocol, the most widely accepted Internet encryption standard. This system protects your private information while it is transferred from your computer's server to ours.

As you navigate the site, you may receive security warning messages, depending on your browser settings. These messages are simply letting you know that you are entering or leaving a secure area.

HP.com uses cookies—small pieces of information that are stored on your computer's hard drive—so that we know when you're visiting our site. You can browse HP.com with your cookies turned off, but you will only be able to purchase if your browser is set to accept cookies. Accepting cookies on our site does not give us access to your computer or to any other personal information about you, other than the data you enter to complete a purchase.

HP and its subsidiaries respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. HP uses the information in your profile in accordance with our privacy policy.

Credit card numbers are used only for payment processing and fraud protection, and are not retained for other purposes.
