    Not a good choice

This is not a good printer. I've regretted it since I bought it. Rarely communicates well with our devices. Will not load photo paper reliably. Overrides computer settings for it's own settings so that printing a simple 4x6 photo takes multiple tries and tons of wasted paper and ink. Non-intuitive. A huge step backwards.

The HP Envy 7640 is the best

The best HP printer I ever owned. I had a little trouble setting up wireless but overcame this with the help of HP. Everything works great and the pictures that I print come out wonderful. Thanks HP for your wonderful printers. HP is the only one that I purchase.

Nice value for an all in one!

I've had it for 3 months now and it's been great. Awesome easy setup by following HP website and it works flawlessly with my chrome and android devices. No dropped signals, so far. Quality of prints, scanning and fax are good and speed is fine for me. Love the SD card feature for importing camera images and exporting documents! My only negative comment would be that the scanner does not take multiple pages and create one document - you get individual documents, instead of one.

    Poor quality photo printing

This is the 5th HP printer I have owned for the last 10 years. The last printer was a HP Photosmart C7280. It produced excellent photos. This 4 year old printer unfortunately broke a small gear and was not worth fixing so time to upgrade. I chose the HP Envoy 7640. It claimed to produce "lab" quality photos. Not even close to the quality of the Photosmart. Sure, it does print in colour but not for printing photos. I believe it is a decent colour printer for general use, scanning, faxing, etc. But for photos? Not this printer.

Excellent product but lacks detailed instructions

This is my first wireless printer after many years of using a much older HP inkjet model. I use this with an iMac running OS10.12 and an iPad Air running iOS 10.11. The unpacking and set-up of the printer was easily and quickly done. Following the set-up guide provided in the box resulted in a fast and successful activation. I initially intended that the printer run on my home WiFi network, but starting with my iMac, the printer defaulted to AirPrint and thus made a direct connection to the computer. There was no option offered, or that I could find, that would enable me to log it in to my home network. When I activated my iPad connection (after downloading the AiO Remote App) I was able to log the printer in to my home network. The process was straight forward and easily accomplished stepping through the prompts on the AiO Remote App. I have printed from both iPad and iMac, text pages and photos, and the results are very good quality . The connectivity is good with both devices, despite computer, iPad, printer and WiFi modem all being located in different rooms. I am very pleased. I have used the scanner, and it functions equally as well. I have not used the fax feature, and will be unlikely to in the near future. My one negative observation is regarding the available information on the printer, specifically operating system compatibility and set-up. In neither the product info associated with the online catalogue, nor the info on the driver software download site, was it clear that the latest version of Mac OS would run this printer. Maybe an update to this info would be possible??? I also would like to have had a full understanding of the printer's connectivity options and how to achieve them. All that is available is essentially "log in to the hp website and follow the prompts" - which accomplished the objective of allowing me to set up the printer, but it was somewhat akin to flying blind. In summary, I am very pleased with the printer and its functionality. It works well, produces good print and photos, scans effectively, works plenty fast enough for my needs, and establishes and maintains wireless connectivity very reliably. I would be 100% satisfied had there been a complete list of compatible operating systems listed in the marketing info, and had there been a more comprehensive information package either with the unit, or on line, that provided a better explanation of the setup / networking details that I could anticipate or should expect.
